A regularity rally is all about consistency rather than outright speed. Competitors follow a set route and complete a series of timed sections across the event. The aim is to arrive at certain points at the correct time or maintain a set pace, not to be the fastest.
If a car arrives too early or too late at a timing point, small penalties are applied. Over the course of the rally, these penalties add up, and the competitor with the lowest total at the end of the event is the winner.

Across the four days, drivers will complete over 80 timed sections, often grouped together, where accuracy down to fractions of a second matters. There are also longer sections where competitors must hold a steady average speed over a set distance.
Timing points may be clearly marked or hidden, adding to the challenge. Even being slightly early or late can result in a penalty, so teamwork, concentration and smooth driving are key throughout the rally.
